OSSAA Release 2018 & 2019 Soccer Districts
OSSAA announced Wednesday the new soccer districts for 2018 and 2019. There are some changes, notably Norman High and Edmond Santa Fe going to the east side for the normal rotation of west teams. Leaving 6A District 2 with Edmond Santa Fe is US Grant, both highly competitive programs. District 2 did not add any scrubs in their place though. In fact, the district shake-up reunited the heated rivalry of Southmoore vs Moore into District 2 and moved a talented Edmond Memorial team into the fold. What has quickly become a battle at the top of District 2, the Southmoore vs Mustang match, is still set to be a district match as well. Norman North and Putnam City Original remain and Lawton High and Midwest City round off this abundantly talented district.
The districts for 2018-2019 6A Soccer are as follows:
District 1: Choctaw, Deer Creek, Edmond North, Putnam North, Putnam West, U.S. Grant, Westmoore, Yukon.
District 2: Edmond Memorial, Lawton, Midwest City, Moore, Mustang, Norman North, Putnam City, Southmoore
District 3: Bartlesville, Bixby, Broken Arrow, Enid, Jenks, Muskogee, Ponca City, Stillwater.
District 4: Capitol Hill, Edmond Santa Fe, Norman, Owasso, Sand Springs, Sapulpa, Shawnee, Tulsa Union
OSSAA also plans to add a “dead period” in early July to give players and coaches and mandatory break over the summer. More on this story and the new districts can be found here from NewsOK: http://newsok.com/ossaa-plans-to-present-summer-dead-period-at-area-meetings/article/5566768
